Pete’s Interview with Cameron Stewart
I finally got my Cameron Stewart interview uploaded onto ComicbookDaily.

We talk about his upcoming stint on Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne. (He’s doing the art for the Cowboy Batman issue.) Sea Guy, what it’s like to work with Grant Morrison and his feeling’s on the iPad. I’m pretty happy with it, and I hope you guys enjoy!
Don’t forget to check out What’s Shipping this week as volume one of Batman & Robin comes out! There’s a reason by I’m pushing it so hard and it really has to do with the level of quality. It’s seriously the best thing DC is putting out right now!
Great Quotes About Comics (Part Two In A Series)
“Last year I got to kill Batman, which was kind of fun. Everybody should kill Batman once.”
– Neil Gaiman, Naperville Reads 2010.
He’s referring, of course, to his two issue mini-series Whatever Happened To The Caped Crusader, a meta-textual storyline that focuses on the death of Batman. It’s an amazing story that gets better and better the more you read it. Highly recommended stuff.
Cool Comic Book Moments #2 (in a series)
Darwyn Cooke* is a name that is bandied about a lot at our store. Chances are if you’ve come in and asked us for suggestions we’ve probably handed you over either his incredibly noir adaptation of Richard Stark’s The Hunter, or we’ve shown you the beauty that is DC: The New Frontier.
He’s an incredibly artist – cartoony, yes – he’s got shades of Alex Toth and Bruce Timm – but he’s got a style that is completely his own.
I’d like to showcase just one page from his entry in the ill-fated DC anthology series Solo.
It’s a ‘cover version’ of the classic Steve Engelehart Batman story “Night of the Hunter”
The basic gist is pretty simple, Batman is stalking a group of bank robbers fresh from their score, and systematically taken them down one by one… Until only one man is left.. read on:
Pretty awesome stuff eh? This story was luckily reprinted in Batman: Ego and Other Tails… worth it’s place in your collection.
*Oh, just so you know, if you’re interested you can read an interview that I did with Mr. Cooke during his appearance at ArtOriginals’ Noir and Beyond Art Show.
